Welcome to Bruce’s Bible Study

Galatians 2:20

Your host, Bruce C. Coffin, Jr.

(About Bruce)

This site is focused on lifting up the Lord Jesus Christ in a way that even a seeker or a new believer can easily profit from their time on this site.  On this site I desire to provide what I wish I had known when I was first saved. You will find “foundational” Bible studies that are intended to give direction and support for any period of your life in Christ.

What qualifies someone as a teacher and/or guide for others?  Essentially it is a calling from the Lord, Who equips that someone for the task. It often involves years of formal study and earning degrees. It always involves many years of Bible study and spiritual growth. Most importantly, it involves pain, and failure, and revival, brokenness, so that a person becomes a “wounded healer” who shares the comfort that he/she has received from the Bible and the Lord with those who are experiencing difficulty and pain.

I want you to grow faster in the Lord and with less pain than I did.  Now that I am old enough to know the answers, people consider me too old to ask the questions.   Think of me as your old Uncle Bruce who is  ready to give advice and support, has empathy for you and your difficulties because he has been there, done that, bought the t-shirt, the hat, and the souvenir coffee mug.

 Jesus said,

Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.  For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” —-Matthew 11:28-30 ESV*

Rest for your soul, an easy yoke and a light burden is promised to you. If you are lacking any of these things, it is time to meet with Uncle Bruce.

You probably have a lot of questions about me and my doctrinal beliefs. I will answer some of those questions on the About Bruce page.

Once again, welcome to Bruce’s Bible Study. Use the menu to get around. I am in the process of updating the site, so expect some construction and dust. God bless you and may He lead to safe pasture.
